Shawnée Escobedo, COTA

Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant

Shawnée graduated in 2018, though her path to certification was delayed as she devoted time to caring for her ill brother. During this period, she worked as a behavioral therapist, providing essential care and support. Following that, she transitioned into a role as a physical therapy technician in Roswell, NM. After earning her certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA), Shawnée relocated to Albuquerque due to the lack of job opportunities in Roswell.

Outside of work, Shawnée is a proud and dedicated single mother to two boys, ages 15 and 8. In her personal time, she finds joy in painting, tending to her houseplants, and escaping into a good book—whether it’s a heartfelt romance or a spine-tingling spooky story.

Shawnée is passionate about her work as a therapist, striving to positively impact as many lives as possible. Her dedication to helping others not only fuels her career but also supports her family, allowing her to do what she loves every day.
